HomeStart heads North
Thursday, 31 March 2016
Did you know HomeStart has opened a Northern office? Due to the strong demand for property in the Northern suburbs, we have opened an office in Salisbury to help more local customers get into their own home sooner.
Our figures show that almost half of all of the first home buyers purchasing a home through HomeStart, have bought their homes in Adelaide’s Northern suburbs.
The numbers also show that in the last five years, lending in the northern suburbs has risen by 10% – from 34% in 2010 to 44% in 2015, with suburbs such as Elizabeth, Salisbury, Pooraka and Munno Para leading the way.
Our data is supported by the numbers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which show that the City of Playford and the City of Salisbury were among the highest growth local government areas in South Australia, last year.
And why wouldn’t people want to buy a home in the North?
There is an abundance of affordable housing and land for construction, as well as good transport links and employment opportunities – providing ideal conditions for first home buyers looking to get into their own home.
The Playford Alive development is also a big drawcard for the North, and along with regions such as Salisbury, are ideal ‘starter’ areas where first home buyers can get a foot in the door, and then have the option to transition to a more centralised location down the track if they want to. Buying in the Northern suburbs could mean first home buyers don’t have to make as many compromises on the types of features they want in a home – such as more bedrooms and a bigger garden – making it an ideal place to call home for young couples and growing families.
HomeStart’s new office is located at Unit 1/40 Commercial Road, Salisbury and is for new customers and enquiries.
