Need to give your home décor a lift, but don’t have lots of cash to play with? We’ve found the best K-mart hacks to give you some homes-peration, on a budget.
Basket make over
Put your own stamp on the sea-baskets by adding tassels and pompoms – throw in a fiddle leaf, and they’ll look like they’ve come straight from a beachfront holiday house. Minus the cost of an interior designer.
Midas Touch lamp
Give a golden touch to the pineapple lamp with some polka dots – just use a circle stencil and some gold spraint in a satin finish.
Switch out the candle
This geometric candle holder is the perfect size for pencils or pens, and will make a funky and functional addition to any desk.
Or why not swap in an indoor plant to bring your living room to life?
Faux wall garden
Fill the hexagonal wall boxes with fake succulents and you’ll have an indoor wall garden that’s impossible to kill.
Easy-access book case
The 3-shelved bookcase on its back makes a wonderful open bookcase for kids – just add wooden legs, like these ones from Bunnings.
Upsized outdoor setting
Combine two outdoor table settings to make one large square table – perfect size for a BBQ dinner with friends.
Bring this white clock to life by colouring in the numbers and the tip of the hands with acrylic paint or paint pen.
Cork board feature
Fasten two cork placemats ($4 each) to the wall, and you’ve got a simple and stylish pin-up board.
Cheat’s side table
Team the wire pot rack ($5) with a marble look placemat ($2) and you have yourself a side table. Swap in a serving tray for placemat, for a new look tabletop, armed with edges.
Take the concrete stools and spray the seats with @rustoleum_australia grey. You can leave the legs black, or for an all-white kitchen, spray white.
